The History Channel is beginning a new series called "Breaking Vegas". It's all about people who found angles to use against the casinos, and even the few who got away with it.
For those of you who perform with cards, it looks like a great place for inspiration. They're kicking the series off with a 2004 documentary of the same name, about the MIT Blackjack Team. |

The first shows of the series are interesting. I think they need a gambling consultant for the show however. In the first episode, "The Ultimate Cheat", Richard Marcus is introduced as a professional casino blackjack dealer. When he's later being taught to cheat, his teacher says, "Deal me a hand of blackjack."
At that point, Richard deals the hands, gets a 17 and . . . get this . . . he hits! So much for the believability of this actors character as a professional casino blackjack dealer. The funniest part of the error is that the blackjack layout that is being used at the time clearly says, "Dealer draws to 16 and stands on 17." |

Usually the dealer only stands on a "Hard" 17 but hits on a "Soft" 17. Not seeing the show I don't know if the 17 was hard or soft.

You know, I watched this last night in a half sleep haze. I didn't catch exaclty what went wrong in that shot, not enough to be able to have told you what was wrong, but I did notice that something was "wrong." Being that I am probably not going to watch it again, thanks for making that clear for me.
