I can personally vouch for Larry's use of the Versadex Wallet as I have watched him use it in action on more than a few occasions and it IS terrific, not just with the application for Kollosal Killer but with many more applications. It is very versatile. In fact, Larry has more ideas and wallets than anyone I know. He is the Wallet King. I had to have a jacket with an index of pockets just to hold all his wallets, all of which are brilliant I might add.
I highly recommend his Versadex Wallet to anyone interested in performing the Kollosal Killer as cleanly as possible, available from Larry, just private him on here. He also has some other KILLER effects, all worth a look. Larry Becker is truly an incredible thinker who's mind never seems to stop. Hell, I use several of his brilliant effects in my full stage show and have for years. PSIncerely Yours, Paul Alberstat |

Larry,
I always liked your "one-off" variation and considered it to be "stronger" when it happened rather than the spec getting the card right the first time. I pose the routine as the spec is going to try and "predict" what card is in the wallet (that's displayed on a stand). Now this is a bit incorrect in that knowing what the card is not a "prediction" but "clairvoyance," but in some respects it is a prediction because the spec will predict what will be the outcome when I open the wallet. Anyway, if the person is off by one, I say "people will wonder, shouldn't I have been able to predict that she would have been off by one, and they would be right, I did know that she would be off --would you please read the back of the card: 'Don't worry--I knew you would be off by one card.'" It makes the routine seem like that was what I had intended all along and makes me the "better" psychic, which I should be. -Asmayly |

Ok, I'm convinced. Anything else I should know before buying the first one?
...think not that all wisdom is in your school. You may have studied other paths, but, it is important to remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, there is always more to learn.

I just performed this effect for the first time and I am hooked. I got to use the out, and as I showed the message my friends just went totally silent looking at the card. Then the person who had named the card said, "That is the scariest thing you have ever done to me." Gotta love it!

I have some questions about the finer points of performing Kolossal Killer, but thought it best to start a new thread about them. It's in the penny for your thoughts forum. If any of you who know this effect well have time to read and chip in, I'll certainly be grateful. Thanks!

Suddendly, I'm having second thoughts about KK!
I have been using lately a variation of Greg Arce's "Scorched" posted here in the Café, and in fact came up with patter that rationalizes and justifies each new choice so that it's not inconsistent with how it was answered the previous time. But, I feel that the spectator knows he has somehow been hoodwinked. You have to admit, it is one long equivoque AND the choice of the card is in your wallet TO BEGIN WITH, so OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW WHERE YOU WANT TO GO! It just seems transparent, unless of course, the spectator makes all the right choices the first time. CM |

I've probably said this too much, but I love using KK as an out for K.E.N.T.

Killer is really great. Never thought about using it as an out for KENT, I have been afraid to do KENT for that exact reason. Hmmmmmm, off to re-think, Thanks deceptionguy!

Barrett_James,
You are more than welcome! Pete, K.E.N.T. is a controversial effect of John Mahood's released through Kenton Knepper. I don't want to start another debate, but It cause ill feelings with Bob Farmer. I do my own version which does not use any cards. I am hoping to have it published soon. I have tipped it to a very few (feel free to chime in), and have got it down to a 99% success rate. David

I believe you have to email Larry Becker about the wallet. I don't think he has a site with wallets on it.
