After long hours of practice and days of starring at Dayrl and Harwin's videos, I decided to make one. I made it yesterday, edited today. I didn't call it flourishes re-booted because I wanted to copy the Reloaded video, I named it that because a while ago I created a video called flourish which was a piece of crap. I'm embarrased just to mention it. This one is a lot better. The quality isn't that good, but its good enough.
I posted 2 links incase one ran out. <outdated links removed by staff> Enjoy!

Yao AOC, nice video and thanks for the credit, I guess its for the Brainpain variation.
The only things I think needs some improvement for the next video... Hmm, The werm needs some smoothness on the opening and closing, but I tell everyone that, the werm just needs a special flow to it, and I don't think it looks too good with Bee cards, not many cuts do at all. The 127.000.00 or whatever its called, too many numbers for me It needs some improvement on speed, but so does mine so I shouldnt complain very much. ^^ And a few tips concerning the video itself, the video presentation... Try not to do the same move more than once, absolutely not 3 times as I saw you do a sybil thing you did. I know this seems a little hypoctitical as I actually showed one move twice in my latest video, but the first time it was just blurred together with another one. (I probably wont re'do that again btw, didn't look good.) Try to film the video in the same lighting all the time, so it doesn't go darker when it gets later. Its the same with me, the lighting DOES change, but then I try to make the picture a little lighter by editing it up. And work some on angles, the angle werent really the best for Kevins production MD Production, a above view is a lot better, so experiment a little with angles, that's what I currently am doing to get some ideas for future videos. (Which wont be a while... Flourish, that is.) But it was overall a good video for not making many videos, you should see my second video... Or thinking twice, you shouldnt.

Yeah, I knew the werm was bad and figured someone would say something. The card always pops out in the beggining and that screws it up. I also have to figure out a new way to close it.
Also, about showing the sybil, its the thing I've improved the most on (if you every say my older video's you would cry at how bad they were) So I decided to put it in a few times. It was probelly to many but I just wanted to show it. (btw, is that a good speed. It can go faster but I want people to be able to see it. I also like how it flows at that speed) As for the springs... I have no Idea why I put that many in there.. I'm sometimes an idiot. About the 345.00.. whatf'er number thingy cut. Yeah, I'm horrible at it. I can do the first part up to speed but can never do that part well. Its one of the few times I've done it and I thought it was good to put it in for a little variation. I credited you for that cut which was really dark, I showed it a few times, the spinny one when the packets flip. I wasn't exactly sure how to do it becuase you cut off the ending so that's what I came up with. I'll play around with a tripod and see if I can do some over the shoulder views and other stuff. Fianlly, I wasn't so much worried about how interesting the video was. I'm trying to get feedback and make my stuff better. Had it been for entertainment I would have tweeked a few things, but I just want to know if stuff is good. BUT! Thanks for the awesome comments and suggestions. When I make another one I'll work on lighting and angles. Quote:

I liked this video very much. Well done ace of clubs!! I agree with Harwin regarding the lighting, but to tell you the truth, it wasn't such a big deal expept for at one point. About fifty seconds in you do a manipulation, and your hands are in front of a window. This causes your hands and the cards to appear as shadows, and obscures the move. Even if you can't shoot in the same light throughout the video, you should try to avoid shooting with light only at your back, as this is the result. Otherwise, nice video!!
I am away and will be so until late July. I will have a chance to read the forums, but I will be pressed for time, and unable to read every thread. If you feel a thread requires my attention, please PM me with a link. Thanks, and have a great summer. :

AOC, ill describe it in one word, Horrible.
I am a slow learner though. By the way, send me a PM and I will tell you where to find a teaching video of the entire cut, for your appreciation. The sybil speed, GOOD that you think that way, I don't want to go too fast when I do cuts to people live anymore, they have to see what is happening. I do them faster in videos as magicians/manipulators seem to appreciate speed more than smoothness, but I found your speed to be fine.

Ok here's my best bit and worst bit:
Best Bit= The ace productions were very fast and flashy. Worst bit= The music, sorry man, but it just didn't work with the video. |

Hi AOC..
firstly.. was it Daryl Martinez/Eason or Daryl Ho(Me) you credited? Hahaa.. I don't see any of the former's moves, but neither did I see the latter's. Your ace productions were pretty good! But I'd have to agree with artwo on the music as well. Just didn't flow with the moves.. Good job nonetheless!

Okay, I credit Daryl in 2 ways. You because I loved your video, and in The Encyclopedia Of Card Sleights vol. 7 he teaches you (more in depth than the buck twins did) the more when you pull a card forward and flip it over. I didn't understand it til I got that.
The music was just something I found.. I have a few really good songs but none of them really fit, so I just put in this. I wasn't worried about the music because its not really a video for amusement, I just need to know what I need to improve.(besides music, lighting and camera andgles, haha) (ps- I just bought a proffesional back light thingy, and a really cool tripod so I should be able to do some cooler stuff.)

You need some work
far from de'vo or any other xcmer you are ok for a flourisher but still far from most on this board |
Fiddling-Steve Loyal user Danbury, Connecticut 212 Posts |
Just a note- I'm not trying to be De'vo, I'm not trying to do xcm (last time I checked thouse were flourishes, no xcm moves) I know I'm not as good as a lot of people here, but they look like they somewhere from 15-18, but I'm only 13. I can't do a lot of stuff too because I can't fit a card under my thumb (such as in certain one hand cuts, though there may not be many, they look f'er cool) Anyway, this was a terrible video. I set up an area in my basement with a black screen so I can make the backround completely black and only my hands and the cards will appear. I've been working on it for about two weeks, but I'm trying to get a lot of footage and then get my true best material.

Yeah, I changed my named because my site will be this. I've fiddled with a band for about 4 years and played violin for 9 1/2. When I start performing I'll be able to do musically entertainment.
Thanks 4jacks, after all the remarks I thought I had a lot of work to do, major practicing. Maybe I am good? who knows...

I know some kids just have like knacks for things, but seriously I don't think Parents should be forcing their kids to go to music lesson and stuff, when their so young. I'm not saying that your parents did, I'm just rambling, and I'm not a parent, so there's no point in me rambling. Anyway.. Yeah you're good, We all have a lot of work to do, but no one can say you're honestly not skilled. Keep the video's coming. |

It's one of the few instruments that can be played so young (that and piano). Even in high school most wind, (especially brass) players have a tough time because they're still not FULLY developed and they don't have the lung power that a 30 year old does. That's why many kids start violin so young, it's not unusual. |

Hmm… I guess all that is just forgien to me. I asked my wife when she started playing piano (her mom taught her) and she said 4 years old. I was pretty shocked. It just seems way to young to me, but like I said I’m not a parent, plus I was the youngest, so really never dealt with kids at all.

I know a few people who started young like me too. I think its good because it gave my fingers strenght and dexterity. Its got to help some way, idk, hand finger quardination. (note- my parents didn't force me, I agree that its undfaiur for a parent to make someone that young do it, but I wanted to.)
