Do with this what you will, plainman and others. To access most websites after they are taken down, or simply an older version of the site, all you have to do it go to http://www.archive.org/ and use their "wayback machine." If you want to see a website that has changed a lot, but has remained amazingly simple try seeing what the first version of Google looked like, and then looks at its progression through the years. It is basically an internet time machine, enjoy.

Open for Discussion. Personally I was somewhat offended by some of the "suggestions" that we should not increase traffic on the site by looking at it. Each magician and builder will have a different opinion on what the site was illustrating to the public. Some might just shake their head and say, "oh no, another Masked Magician" has hit cyberspace. Others, might be so enraged that they'll take the time to mount somekind of a defensive action against whomever produced the site, similiar to what was done by WAM when the Masked Magician decided to go public. Now getting to the point. I viewed some of those posts as if I was being censored and told what and when I can watch something that is highly controversal. This exposure is a white collar crime and it should be addressed in a most vigorous mannner. When all the dust settles, they will know they were in a good fight. This type of reaction to something distasteful and damaging is all too familiar. In Los Angeles, when a woman screams for help, you can hear the windows being closed. Need I say more?

Points taken...
Just that it's something that you already know is unethical in this case... To plead ignorance to this site's disrespect of Copperfield's rights is really a personal choice... But hey, no one's censoring anyone here... And thia IS the place to learn about Magic... The "technical" stuff will always be in the books and CDs... But the "pointing towards the path" here is rivalled by not many other sources... Imho of course... That's really all I have to say about it though...

The post that asked the question as to how you (anyone whose has claimed to have seen it) came upon the site, has not been answered. Do you claim ignorance and say you didn't know what you were going to see, or did you knowingly go there and view it so you could inform the rest of us not to. I would also like to hear the answer to that question????

Someone sent me the link thru MSN. I looked thru everything. I even downloaded an audie file. It's a phone conversation between the site owner and Copperfield. And he was highly upset. Those long distance calls can be so expensive.

Quote **After all, that is all the exposure site was; one person's guesses at how to achieve DC's effects. So why don't you invest some time, study illusions, and come up with your own solutions(guesses).**
If its just a guess then its not real exposure imo. I feel that anyone who makes guesses as to how an illusion is done should be able to write a book or even post it on the net for others to read. I don't own anything on grand illusion but I'm sure I could get real close as to how he did the illusions. My question is if I came up with my own solutions to do the effects and posted them on the net would you hate me for it? or will that just be based on how close I came to the real thing? Which in my mind shouldn't matter if I got it right or way off. Ralph |

I make a point never to hate, but I may disagree with your actions. These illusion are not your physical or intellectual property. They are not yours to guess at. By making a book of your "guesses" and selling it, you are delliberately profitting from other people's intellectual property. Last time I checked, that IS ILLEGAL.
The only reason these exposures must be regarded as guesses (even if they are right) is becuase he has no evidence that his guesses are correct. Finally, WHY? Why would you do make that book or website? What purpose would it serve? Like I said, study illusions and make your own designs. Then, see how willing you are to post your secrets online. Nick Fox |
