Hello Max,
A long time ago, in a magic shop that has changed greatly since we met, you mentioned a knack or skill where you can ask someone to think of a word or license plate and you would "pull out" the letters and digits one at a time. Have you published any work on this effect? ( is this cold reading? ) Yeah it's been a long time. When last we said hello, you had just held up a bicycle ace of spades with a blue tally-ho back, and as you flipped the card around for the second time, you joked that sometimes things can be "too hip for the room". I don't recall ever having done a routine involving a spectator's license plate number. But, over the years, I have devoted a fair amount of time to psychological techniques for ascertaining words and/or numbers in a truly impromptu circumstance. However, that work remains unpublished.
The mismatched ace was Fred Kaps' idea -- an extra touch to my routine "Impressions" which was the last routine Fred was working on when he died. |
