I just bought my first good set of cups and balls. They were the Phoenix Cups. I was wondering how I should care for them. I keep them in the box when not performing. Does Copper tarnish when I am not performing with them? Also I have heard of something called verdagis or something like that and would like to know what it is. When my cups reach where I want to be tarnished what should I do then?

You will find some information here:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=115 The Phoenix cups have a rough texture, and sometimes tend to tarnish unevenly. But since they are bronze, they will tarnish. Once you get them to the color you like, then give them a coat of carnauba wax and polish it. That will stop the tarnish from going any further. Verdigris is an aggressive corrosion of copper that you see in brass and some bronzes. It is not desirable. It looks like green mold.

Do a search for "patina"
I would list some of them here, but there are seven PAGES of hits on that one word alone.
