Misty Lee,

You have referred to this as a "pen." Looking at it on the
website I got the impression that it was larger and did not
particularly look like a pen. Please let us know how large
it is and what it looks like when you get it.

If it won't pass for a pen, I wonder if it could be made to
look like a wand? I love the idea of using it to reveal an
audience members original drawing. Once again, please give us
a full review once you have had a chance to play with it a bit.

And now see what you have done. I am going to have to get a
marshmallow gun as well. You just had to go and start and
arms race...

Now I'm wondering if an air bazooka could be used for a pk or polter type effect.
They make a minature version now.
What next ? Invisible thread powered slingshots ? Smile

The Airzooka is excellent if you can hide the noise. This was discussed
here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=14

I have not seen the mini one's yet. I'll have to check that out.

PT, when the gun gets here I will totally let you borrow it.

Mystic, the marshmallow gun was a spontaneous 'Oh, no freaking way' kind of purchase, but a bullet catch... man. What a great idea. Especially with a 'marked' mallow. *rolls her eyes at herself since the rest of you are undoubtedly doing it anyway* We already do a version of Harlan's Cheez Whiz in the show, and they're always telling me to plump up and do the entire show with food effects...

What kind of PK effects were you folks thinkin' about as far as the Airzooka is concerned?

I think even if this thing is not a pen, there are plenty of small writing objects out there ( think the mentalist forum)to place on the end to get it to pass as a pen, I.e. you write something, not the victim, er spectator, and then on you go.
I can see letting them call a number out, you wrtite it down, so they cannot change their mind now,(after all, everyone know we cannot change our true destiny) count down the deck of whatever cards you like, even tarot, and viola, the pen knows the card- for the tarot, you could use a symbol or two form the card, or the number on the card XIV, etc. fun way to start a one to three card reading.

As for using D'lites, you can get gold D'lites. For me red screams L.E.D, not many people see gold L.E.D's. Yellow/gold is a bit more magicial, red makes me think of lasers?

It's from this sort of "lunacy" that great routines are born!

Frankly, even in this rough state, I think it's a terrific idea!

And, BTW,card 123, while I see your point, you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss D'Lites until you've exhausted all possibilities; I get terrific reactions from mine -- and that's with adults!

I've had great success with it, in a comedy routine, which appeared in my Showtime column in the Linking Ring magazine. If anyone is interested, I'll freely send him or her the routine, although I don't know why.

Having freely given away literally hundreds of routines, I was taken aback by the following comment, made by someone called Hart, who claims to be a magician but is really an insurance peddler: “He (Peter) gave me a routine once and after I read it I knew why he gave it away.”
That comment was made on The Magic Café on May 27, 2005 and should leave no room for doubt why I am reluctant to pass along any further articles.
If that’s the kind of “thanks” I can look forward to, I don’t think I’ll bother.
Oh, what the heck, why should I let one moron dictate what I do?
The routine is available.

*thumbs up to Peter* Right on! Stick it to 'em, dolly! *grin*

I'd like to see the D'Lite routine, sir!

And as far as those things go, it's all about choosing your audience and handling your prop. If you can prove there's nothing in your hand, and you handle them in such a way as to prove that it's magic, they can be the most amazing things your lucky audience will ever see. I've even surprised myself with the effect in the mirror a time or two. They're just so fun! Smile

Peter, I for one have always appreciated your contributions, and my thanks are long overdue. Sincerely, THANK YOU! I am sure there are hundreds of others who feel the same but for some reason we neglect to say so. don't let one ***hole overshadow the rest of us...
