I just purchased a nice Chazpro Slot box. I was wondering if anyone has a good routine for this clever device? Or a good resource.
I've been playing around with a c/s too. Thanks, Paul |

I wrote up a routine using a slot box and standard Okito box in the book that Todd Diamond and I put out last year, "Bar Magician". The routine is called "Mikito Matrix", and is a one-at-a-time transposition of four silver halves, ending with all of them vanishing at once.
David Roth's "Expert Coin Magic Made Easy" volume 11 (I think, it maybe volume 10) has some extremely good ideas for the slot, Boston, and standard Okito boxes. Best, Mike |

Again, Roth's Expert Coin Magic in book form has an entire third of the book dedicated to box routines. Check it out...you won't regret it.

Roth's slot box routine on the video, "Live in London" is the best that I have seen, and his way of having the box and coins examined is a great clincher.

Chazpro has a magnetic coin box which can be used like the slot box and it is examinable. David Neighbours has some routines on it.

You can adapt a lot of coin box routines for the slot box, but the Roth book only has normal (?) box routines.

The slot box came after the magnetic coin box. In fact, most people abandoned the magnetic box when the slot came along because ANY coin could be used in the box, as opposed to the single magnetic coin used in most magnetic coin box routines. Both boxes are equally examinable!

Hi Harold...I still love Ultimate Monte...great routine! Best regards, Glenn Godsey |

I may be wrong, but I don't think there are any slot box routines on David Roth's "Ultimate Coin Magic" DVD. Although he does demo and explain the slot box, there are no routines using it that I'm aware of. SETH

Hiya, Glenn (a fellow yoyo man)!
Roth's "Live in London" is probably one of the best videos for good solid closeup material. He does his shell coins across, a classic 3 ball routine, and his slot box work. Highly recommended.

In my book "As the Crow Flies" my routine "Fist of Okito" uses a slot box.
I feel that a strength of the effect is that it is an "up" effect, where the box is placed onto the back of the hand held at chest height. It's a coinbox effect that plays well for large tables. |
