There is so much you can do with a change bag but here are some of just the little ideas I have used over the years for laughs and gags.
- Have the child zip up the bottom and as he does just insert your index finger right at the end. It will appear as if the child zipped it on your finger. It is a bit of physical comedy that adds and gets a lot of laughter from young kids. - Have the zipper part and bottom open. When you place the silks in the first time say that is is very important that every single hankerchief goes into the magic bag for this to work right. Of course you are now playing up on the .. they see and you do not see principle... as the silks fall on the stage. - Another funny gag is after showing the bag empty. you can say that you KNOW the silks have to be in there somewhere so you will go and check. You place your hand in and and your hand comes out the other bottom. You scream and whisper to the helper, "shhhh be quiet there is someone else inside my bag. I will go and get him out" You basically struggle as if you are trying to pull the other hand out of the bag until you realize it is you. Ooops. Gets a lot of laughs from the kids. Well I will leave it at this for now. Hope it is of help to you. Kyle

With the bottom unzipped, I place a silk into the bag and keep going through the bag to stick the silk in my pocket. I pull my arm out, wave a hand and - POOF! - the hanky has vanished from the bag. Just as they start shouting that the hanky is in my pocket, I dive back in pull the silk out of my pocket and make a big production of pulling it from the bag. The children will insist that there is a hole in my bag. I poke my arm through to prove them wrong and - what d'ya know! - my arm zooms straight through. There's a HOLE in it!! I ask a child in the front row to zip it UP for me...they of course pull the zipper DOWN and I comment on that. after this little bit, I launch into my personal version of Silkola.
