I just bought a Fender pd150 and I love it! At first I was going to buy the pd250, but truthfully, I'll get more use out of the pd150.

Hi - We have been using the p150 for about 5 years for our act and it and its a fantastic piece of kit. Bookers are always impressed when we bring in our(what looks to be a large suitcase) Fender Passport. The fact that the speakers unclip and the set up on our speaker stands. It will give even amateur acts a professional look & sound. We don't use fender mics though as we bought some very good wireless headsets. The only negative thing about the unit is the weight. If you don't have a trolley or you have to get up stairs it can be very hard work. Also my wife refuses to lift it & I can't blame her as she pull her shoulder the last time that she picked it up. The final thing about the machine is that it sets up very quick & have a plastic protection cover which has protected it from many scratches & knock during transporting it to performances. We could really do with another cover as it is now a tatty after 5 year of professional use. The unit is nearly as good as day 1. We brings me to my last comment. In five years this unit has never let us down & has been the best purchase we have made for our act. If you buy one you will not regret it but get a trolley to transport it for van to venue. Hope our comments help - Razamatazz

Hello Razamatazz,
I suspect you mean you have a P250. The P150 is very light and easily transported. The P250, on the other hand, is much larger and can be somewhat unwieldy. Michael |

Hi Michael
Yes - You are probably right - This is a real heavy piece of kit but as I said before it is a fantastic machine. Changing the suject - I see you have your photo next to your post. How do you do that. We are new members so still learning how to use this forum. Cheers - Andy

I, too, was looking for a small solution rather than my Passport 250 (which I love!), and I was considering the smaller Passport series. When I went to my local music store, I came across this solution for $100.00
http://www.rolandus.com/products/details......o%20Cube Man...it kicks! I tried it out in my backyard and in the local park. Worked great! And, since it works on batteries, I don't have to worry about power. It has two inputs so I can also use a microphone. So many solutions... Thought I would toss this one out mates!

Hi Captain Jack
We went to the Roland website & agree it looks impressive but we always like to have some music backing to part of our shows. We see it has an audio in on the Cube amp - have you tested any music source on this unit and if so how does it sound. Andy & Sue

I've lost the link for it...do a web search and just hunt around which is what I did...the place that I got this price from was a web company that allowed you to pick your price maximum and then they would decide if they wanted to meet it...it took a couple of back and forth(s) to get this...in the end I got the same price (canadian equivalent)after I factored in shipping, customs, taxes and so on and I didn't have to worry about US v. Canadian warranties so I went with my local company....good luck
jeff ps. also check out ebay as you can find deals there also |

Thanks for all of your comments as I finally have taken the plunge and just bought a PD150 this evening. Sam Ash had a used one for $349 and added a 13 month warranty for $35. This is an awesome system with great audio and no hiss and sets up in a minute. I tested it with my iPod which I use along with an RF remote for my sound.
Thanks again for all of the input in this thread. Dan. |
