Unfortunately, just about every casino has a Houdini's Magic shop. Don't even bother to do anything with thread there because it almost seems like everyone is given a UFO before they get off the plane.
Go to Denny & Lee's... that's were the professionals go.

And I believe it is Wednesday nights when all the local magicians meet at Boomers... you'll see people from the stage show who sometimes stop by, Gary Darwin is always there along with Alan Ackerman, Bob Kohler, Scott Alexander, and more.

Denny & Lee's web site is at http://www.dennymagic.com . To get to the shop from the Strip, turn north on Tropicana, get in the left lane, and go over I-15. Turn left on Industrial Rd., which is just on the far side of the bridge. Denny & Lee's is about .3 miles up on the right.

Directly across from Denny and Lee in the same industrial complex is The World of Mirth. The owner works the counter and has some great stories. I spent at least 3 hours listening to some amazing stories about people in the business. During that time 2 other magicians popped in and shared their stories of working with DC and others. Don't miss it.

The "Owner" who works the couner at The Planet Mirth, is none other than the famous Mr. Earl Chaney; And yes, don't go there if you are in a rush, Earl also has an extensive museum of collectibles in his warehouse behind the store's front;
