I think all of us would like to get away from eBay, but no current sites, that I have found, have the necessary traffic for successful auctions.

I think e-bay is great. I bought many items very cheap.

I gotta admit, sooner or later everything shows up on Ebay, I'd continue to monitor it.

As was already mentioned, e-bay is very big and has a lot to offer. I have had very good luck there finding great and reasonable products (magic and other).

http://www.chazpro.com (besides being one of my favorite dealers) has a small auction page. The products are proposed by the shop (about 20 a week) and you can put your auctions by e-mail.
Anyway, buying books/vids directly from their authors is the best when you can afford it, as it rewards their creativity. Best, Sylvain |

Ebay is still the best site out there for magic auctions. You have to watch your prices though even on Ebay.

Ebay is a great site with many items and excellent searching capabilities. I have used Ebay frequently for a number of items.
Magicauction doesn't have as much and I have only used it once, but I am pleased with that site also. I wish it was easier to find a specific item on their site without having to scroll down the whole page or pages to find what you are looking for. One positive note I can think of on the magicauction over Ebay is with Ebay you are dealing with the sellers or buyers directly and have to wait on that person. With magicauction they act as a middleman between the buyer and seller. The seller doesn't get the money until they, (magicauction), have the merchandise in hand and the transaction is completed then. Also http://www.yahoo.com has magic items for sale on their auction site but its not as easy as the others to use. |

myname1960,
Are there two shipping charges on magicauction, because of the middle man? |

MrA,
When I made my purchase on the magicauction site, I paid 1 shipping charge which was reasonable. About a month ago, I sent an email to the magicauction people and asked about shipping charges on 3 particular items and what it would be if I added another item. Their reply was in that paticular instance, the shipping was the same for the 4 items as was for the 3 items. They say they ship by weight. One downside on ebay is that if you win 3 items from 3 differnt people you have to pay 3 separate shipping charges no matter the weight. Everything is added together on the Magic Auction site. Hope this answered your question. Chris |
