Hi,
My son is really getting pretty hot on his diabolo but still struggles with tying off the ends of new string. He wondered if any of you had source info or tips on that topic.
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Might be of some help... Otherwise, have him thread the new string into the small hole until he has about 3 or four inches of string extending...Then tie what I call a 'Surgeons Knot' (could be called something else though)...It's looping the end of the string through itself (like you make a regular knot) 4-5 times instead of just once....If you pull the end of the string slowly it will cause it to 'bunch up' in an orderly fashion (Dang, this is hard to explain without visuals..Sorry). At any rate, a sufficently sized knot should keep the string from pulling through when he's whipping the dialbo or catching it from high throws (which I assume is what is happening.) Good Luck. I use what I think is called a round trun and two half hitches or something like that. Anyway it's two knots that can slide along the string and so tighten themselves when you start doing tricks. If you live in the UK I'll show you at the next BJC.

I knew a man who kept saying "pliers, pincers, scissors". He was speaking in tongs.
