This post is similar to Mr. Phils. I really couldn't get THE answer I am looking for so I figured I would start a new topic.
I am looking for I guess a cabinet, mobile or not, that has maybe like a big space down below and then on top like a bunch of little drawers, maybe the size of 1 foot deep, by say, 6-10 inches length and 3-4 in height. I am not looking for specific measurements but I am trying to build a picture in your head. Also, it wouldnt have to have that space on the bottom. I just want to store all of my decks in certain drawers and label them, then my shell coins and my steel/copper pennies and all of my accessories in different drawers and have them labeled. Is there such a thing out there? |

Sounds like you are describing either an old library card catalog or an apothocary cabinet. Card catalogs can probably be purchased as surplus from school districts. true apothocary cabinets are antiques and expensive, although I've seen knock offs at places like Bombay or Pier 1 Imports or the like.

I purchased a jewelry box to store all of my coin gaffs, and it worked out pretty well. Lots of slots and compartments in the top for shells, bang rings and Okito Boxes, and a single drawer in the bottom for bigger stuff (Nest of Boxes, Jumbo Coins, etc.) You should be able to pick one up for less than $20.
For cards, how about a CD storage case? Sounds like it would be about the right size for decks of cards. SETHB

Go to a used furniture store and look around.
Lots of cool chests, etc.

I have designed a slightly bigger cabinet. It holds a small practice table and chair, full length mirror and multiple pullout shelves and drawers to house all your tricks and props and accessories in a protected, but readily available, manner so you can practice at will, but secure it against the sticky fingered hordes(small children). It is on wheels so you can move it out to practice and tuck it away when done. A variety of wood finishes or paint is available. Of course they are not cheap.

Machinist's Tool boxes are really nice.
They are made of wood so they look like furniture instead of a tackle box. They have lots of drawers usually lined with felt. It's designed to lock up. Plus you can carry it around. Here's a look at one http://www.mytoolstore.com/gerstner/gi530.html |

I see just a few topics down from this one someone had linked to the exact same tool box. Didn't get that far yet, sorry for doubling up.

Watchmaker, that's EXACLTY what I'm looking for. That looks very nice. Im going to search that site for something with more of the little drawers they have in the middle. Thanks, and let me know if you find something similar with more drawers in it. Thanks again.

I recently found a great organizer for my gaffed coins and C & B/chopcup balls at Home Depot. It's the WorkForce 23 compartment accessory and tool box and is under $4.00. 14" X 9" x 1 7/8" with removable dividers. With 2 boxes for my coins and 2 boxes for all the balls my drawers are a lot more organized now.

I used to use a beautiful Korean medicine cabinet with about 50 draws to store magic equipment. My wife found that it was more useful as a accent piece in the foyer. Since then, I found some stackable inexpensive wooden draw type cabinets containing 6 drawers each. I bought them in Ikea.
