I agree with you I am jealous. I'm 26 AARRGGHH!!! Anyway I have yet to watch the third one yet but I love Vol-2. I personally loved his Daily Journal. I cant give an in depth review, but I am glad that I got these... His take on Memorized decks really made me feel bad that I do not use one yet. Also I wonder I he would tell us how to get something similar to his close-up suitcase... I love his Tape measure and Bill transpo as well. A must have for those that like close-up. A lot of things you can use. On a side not I loved his Lampshade Chop cup routine(Performance only)

I just have one question. Is Joshua Jay a good teacher on his dvds or does he say do this change here and this count there?
The only constant is change.

I personally think Josh is a great teacher. That is my opinion.

I agree Josh, does a very good job explaining the effects on the DVDs. Brian Tudor (thankfully) he is not!

As far as his teaching abilities go, I think he's top drawer. As I mentioned before, he's lectured on most of these effects so many times (in somewhere around 40 countries, I think) that he's familiar with the questions people ask and he covers those areas on the DVDs.
As a contrast - I love the Doc Eason 3-parter but if it hadn't have been for Michael Ammar asking important questions every so often and prodding Doc, we would not have gotten the in-depth explanations we need. Nothing against Doc - his skill is in the creation, the adaptation and the performance of the material. I wish I was more like him. Joshua has the performance abilities along with the knack of fully explaining and teaching the stuff. The fact that he's so young is both depressing and inspiring. |

Dan,
Thank you for your honest review of these DVDs. It makes it much easier to swallow hearing an actual review. I find it humorous when I read DVDs with ten to twenty tricks all MIND-BLOWING. It's just not true. I hope many more honest reviews are posted like yours. I may not agree with it once I see them, but I have to appreciate you being honest, and so does anyone involved with the DVD. Thanks again. As a side note, I am getting these DVDs as I like Joshua and think they may be worth it.
