Any sign of the next 3 volumes being published in English?

Indeed, there are two more volumes. And an extra volumen about Ascanio´s magic with knives, but this one was once released in english translated by Jose De La Torre I think.
I think that the second volume will be released in few months, next year maybe. All the best magic, Pablo Tejero

Posted on another forum yesterday:
" I am already working on the translation of the next volume of The Magic of Ascanio by Etcheverry, which includes all the versions and handlings of the Ascanio Spread and much more, and should be out next year." |

I was advised by the publisher that volumes 2 and 3 should be available in time for FISM2006.

Hello guys,
PapaG: The way you quote makes it look as if your post is signed by me. I'd suggest you quote me in indirect speech (RB wrote that...) or put my name before the quoted text onstead of after, so it doesn't look like 'm signing your post, which BTW is all correct, but I didn't choose to post it in the context of this thread. Martino: That's what the editor hopes but the translator hasn't promised, and if she told you so privately, it was not intended for public use. |

Rafael - apologies, I didn't appreciate the way that my previous post would be interpreted. Looking at it, it does indeed look as if the post was signed by you. Once again, please accept my apologies.
However, I don't think it's that unreasonable for me to quote information that you posted on an open forum. Moreover, I couldn't possibly foresee why you wouldn't want such innocuous information passed on to others. Eagerly awaiting Ascanio's card-work, PapaG |

Raphael,
I asked the question about when the next volumes would be available and was given information back. In fact I quote:- "Hello. Numbers 2 and 3 of "The Magic of Ascanio" will be available in English the next FISM 2006 Regards, Laura Avilés Ruda" This information was freely given to me with no noted restrictions on it's use. Why shouldn't I pass that information on to other interested parties? As the translator of the books I understand that you could be under some pressure to deliver the material but I honestly cannot see why you should make a fuss over me releasing the information. If the information was restricted then why even would she give it to me? I emailed and asked, and was answered. Where's the harm? Regards, Martino. P.S. I enjoyed your lecture in Manchester in February this year.

I requested that the post I made earlier be edited by a moderator. Consequently the name has been removed from the quote above. So hopefully this clears up a bit of the confusion.

PapaG: Thanks for your understanding. I agree it's not unreasonably to quote. I'm only saying it looks like I posted it. Again you're right in seeing no reason to make that information public since I wrote it elsewhere, when answering a question. That's not the point. It's only the signature and thanks for having it removed.
Martino: I'm correcting my editor. If she said this would be ready for FISM, I'll correct her: "We would love to put it out by FISM if the translator finds the time to finish it early enough and he's not commited to do so." I don't want it to look as if I didn't finish it when I promised, beacause I'm not commited to a date and I accepted the job in those terms. The editor didn't expect that information to be made public. She likes to keep her customers informed but you can't go around telling everyone what's public and what isn't. I'm just setting the facts straight. Is this what you call making a fuss? |

Awesome! I'm going to FISM 2006. I hope I can get it autographed by Rafael. Are there any plans on releasing Ascanio knives at the same time? I'm sure the demand is there.
