There is the tabled faro which looks similiar, that is why it's so effective, however it is extremely difficult, the best that I have ever seen with the move is probably marlo.

There are a number of posts on this topic. Summarizing them:
Doing a "perfect" shuffle that does not use the pressure of the two packets to weave the cards is do-able, but completely impractical. Doing a table faro is tough but not impossible. Charlie Miller's method in ECT is excellent. It's just a knack and it's easier than you think.

Martin Nash has an unbelieveable tabled faro. You can find it on his Infinity and Beyond tapes. I've just acquired them, and my jaw is still on the floor. Nash also claims that he can have you doing a perfect tabled faro in 30 minutes. I can't, but I also haven't sat down to practice it. I'm still drooling over the possibilities of the Infinity card.
As far as the riffle shuffle/riffle faro, I just don't get it. I think magicians should almost always do a table shuffle when doing table work. It looks completely professional, and it doesn't ruin a deck.

Michael,
I'd say the most common form of shuffling for laymen is the riffle shuffle nowadays. It looks like the pack is being mixed very well to the untrained eye and nobody suspects otherwise. That is the reason I use it. Eric |

A tabled faro is your best bet. I can perform this, once you study the move id be more then happy to help you via pm. Like many have said, its a knack thing requiring different forces of pressure etc. best learnt through experimentation
