Just wondering if anyone is doing 'Counterweight' and getting value form their presentation? Does the basic visual effect get good reactions? It is a neat looking illusion but how do you make it meaningful?

A better question might be, does ANYONE actually have this item? Mine has been on backorder for weeks so I can make no comment.

I rec'd mine about a week ago. At first glance, I thought this is not what I thought it would be and I put it in my drawer. I finally have a chance to look over this last weekend, and even though I haven't done it in a performance situation, I think this effect is going to blow spec. away at the right moment. The gimmick is very light and it is very easy to do.

Save your money on this one. You already have this at home anyway.

Hey Evolve, Thanks for your reply, I agree that having it at home does not mean you can create the effect. I've probably got most of the stuff needed for heaps of effects at home, but wouldn't even know it. Please let me know what kind of reaction you get when you perform this. Also is it hard to get into position to 'do the effect'. I don't like impractical magic that takes ages to set up and is 'fiddly' in performance.
Cheers, Al

I love counterweight...it gets amazing reactions...and the set up takes about 2 seconds...i carry it in my cardbox everywhere...when I get ready to do a trick I'll pull my box out, balance it on my finger, slide it off the cards, and have the cards balanced, then let the cards fall into my hand, and hand them to the spectator to check out...the gimmick is near invisible

I have had coutnerweight for awhile now. I haven't really utilized this in a routine yet. It is simple to use and set up. I have 'dropped my cards' all over the place a few times while practicing. Nothing like 52 Pick up.

Still_ill thanks for your input, you have convinced me to give it a go... I'll let you know when I have started working it. Thanks for everyones replies, Counterweight has a nice 'suspended magical moment' that allows the magic to be seen as it is happening and I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays.
Kind regards to all, Al
