This is scary, but it really works.
Don't cheat by scrolling down first!!! It only takes 30 seconds. Work this out as you read. Don't read the bottom until you have worked it out!!! 1. First of all, pick the number of days a week that you would like to go out to dinner. 2. Multiply this number by 2. 3. Add 5. 4. Multiply it by 50. 5. If you have already had your birthday this year, add 1748. If you haven't, add 1747. 6. Last step: Subtract the four digit year that you were born. see below: Results: You should now have a three digit number: The first digit of this was your original number (i.e. how many times you want to go out each week). The second two digits are your age!!! It really works. This is the only year it will ever work, so spread the joy around by mailing this to anyone you think might enjoy it.

Neither is it scary, nor does it work - at least not by my calendar. I think you want to add 1755 in step 5. not 1748 (1754 if your birthday hasn't occurred yet).
Let's break this down, shall we? 1. I choose x. 2. 2x 3. 2x + 5 4. 100x + 250 5. 100x + 2005 (100x + 1998 if you use your 1748) 6. Subtracting the year one was born from 2005 (the current year) will obviously give one's age. So we have 100x + age Assuming the person is less than 100 years old, this will result in a three digit number. The first digit is of course x, and the remaining digits are the person's age. Your original number, 1748, gives the age of the person in 1998 - seven years ago. If the person is 100 or older, this won't work. |

If they are older than one hundred, they will be doing good to pick up a pencil and move it around on the paper to add the numbers...

Humans make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to create boredom. Quite astonishing.
