Pythagoras was actually a superstar in his age. I once had to read the "history of Greek philosophy" by Luciano De Crecenzo for school. While you'd think this might be boring, I actually laughed out loud while reading it.
Philosophy can be very intersting and entertaining. I don't see how it fits in a magic trick, though and I don't know the trick you speak of. I know one thing : it all depends on who tells it and how he/she does it. So, if it's a good idea or not depends on your skills, I guess. It's an interesting idea. Good luck with it. |

Philosophy's etymology is Love of Sophia, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. Wisdom is multiculturally portrayed as the feminine.

How about the story of Archimedes instead, his bath tub tale plays better. Eureka!
(Moe Eureka, that is, he's the cab driver I've had him before.)

Pythagoras is famous for his theorum in geometry, but he is also known by his followers for his Pythagorean dictum: Don't eat beans, they'll make you fart. (I'm not making this up) So who said Greek philosophers are boring, at least to 8 year olds?
