I was checking ebay stuff and I saw this:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View......amp;rd=1 I wrote the guy telling him he must not be a magician for doing something so idiotic. This is what he replied: I HAVE BEEN A MAGICIAN AND STILL AM A VERY SUCCESSFUL MAGICIAN FOR OVER 25 YEARS.I hate you think I'm an idiot but your wrong!Only a magician would know, and I am trying to sell it! don't tell me any person who has been doing magic for 25 years would do this...thought I would post it for a laugh |

I don't think anyone but a magician would realize that they were seeing the gimmick.

Eric,
That's pretty funny! Thanks. Imagine his photos for a Square Circle. Other things he might sell: Box with funny stripes inside and a mirror set at an angle. Must be a magic prop... Plastic egg with hole; white silk fits inside. No instructions. Yours, Paul |

That seller has other magic items up for bid. And they seem straight up about selling the stuff.
...to all the coins I've dropped here

I saw a guy a while back selling a lot of stuff from a passed-away relative. I am sure the person taking the photo's had no clue he was tipping gimmicks, but there they were. He took pictures from ever angle ooening boxes and showing the inside.
This I think, happens on E-ay all the time. Bummer

During a REALLY slow night on a stakeout, I was listening to a radio talk show on collectible coins. The show had two coin experts who took calls from the general public. This particular night they were talking about mis-stamped coins and coins wih manufacturing mistakes. One fellow called in and stated that he had found a Kennedy Half Dollar that was completely smooth around the edge and on the back. The experts were totally baffled. I was tempted to call in and explain what this was...but how do you explain something like that without revealing the gaff? They talked about that call of and on for the rest of the show. Ahhh...Muggles!
