Leland: Congrats on your success. May I asked what process you used for your marketing to land this gig?

Hey, Guys:
La Mirada -- what a memory. But what the heck, I got a "brand" out of the ordeal -- no, not on my hide, on the Internet; a marketing gimmick. "Outlaw Magician." Anyway, I've been using techniques and motivation gleaned from Jim Snack's SIM, as well as info from others here at the Café. Essentially, I've been doing morning cold-calling to fraternal clubs, charitable organizations, assisted living homes, etc., and asking who should receive info about the Magic shows I do. Strangely, the reception has been quite positive and cooperative! A week later, I follow-up with a phone call, at which point I'm generally connected to the person named and have a chance to make the sale. That's what happened today! More updates later...thanks for the encouragement! Leland |

Leland,
I've been doing Jim's course for about 6 months to great effect. I was very upset to see him and his siminar at "KidAbra" this year as all my compatriates/competitors were in said siminar drinking from this "fount of wisdom". Oh well, no one ever said life would be easy. The secret is to "DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING and Passive Ads are just a part of that. Yours, Aragorn TM

Thanks guys.
Aragorn, don't worry about your competitors. First of all, you are in a class by yourself! Secondly, remember, all boats rise with the tide. Jim |

Jim is right. You can not worry about them as you are your own best product. remember to become a "solutions Provider" to your clients and meet their needs by finding solutions to the many problems they are faced with. If you do this, you soon find yourself as having a much higher perceived value in the minset of your clients and they will keep coming back to you time and again for what you can do for them that others simply can not provide.

Come on Guys, the thing about my competitors/compatriates (and that's what I call them, it's a good group here) and me being sad that Jim was there was said firmly "In Jest!!" The support within the Magic community here in Atlanta is outstanding. Remember, it was Ken Scott and not me who was able to get the entire Atlanta group to leave at the start of one of the siminars underhandedly so He would be the only Georgian there. We caught on and sheepishly filed back in....lol.
And Kyle, remember my request. I expect one of the 1st 10 copies (autographed of course) of your tome on Festivals. Punningly yours, Aragorn TM

Aragorn:
Thanks for the kind words. I am still in the process of working on the festival project and will work on it more as our festival season starts to wind down this coming month. Ever since April, Kelly and I have been working festivals almost every single weekend and really enjoying it. It just has not given me as much time to work on the book and reference guide as I want to. I certainly will keep you posted and I have taken note that you would like to be one of the top 10. I just want to get the project done and out there. =) I am glad to see that you are reading and using Jim's system and finding success with it. Jim has some great ideas, tips and strategies and anyuone willing to put forth the action (as you are) will certainly see success. Kyle
