Im doing some table hopping at a party in a month. Anyone suggest some nice effects suitable for this environment? What effects would you use in this situation?

There have been a lot of posts on this topic, however I would recomend that you do sponge balls...and if you don't already do them learn them because in my opinion the sponge balls are the best close up trick ever created and I love it because it is in the hands of the spectator.

Actually..... I feel you get an even better reaction with Sponge Bunnies. Just my honest opinion.........JPV But as far as cards go.....this is a card forum, any of the three card monte routines play great b/c of a lot of audience interaction. I would also throw in a few packet tricks depending on your skill level. If you want more of a larger idea of tricks, I would suggest reading some of the links in "table hoppers and party strollers" section. This is specific to what you are looking for an answer for........... JPV

Personally,
I do Haunted deck with Loops and then some filler and I end with In a Flash. Everything resets as I put them away, which makes it ideal for walk around. Short, visual and to the point. Should a crowd gather, do an ACR and end with card in wallet, just a thought.

It doesn't really matter what I would do, or what others do, it sounds like your new to this type of performing areana (if you not......then sorry in advance) & the best advice you can get is to pick 3 card effects that you know that you can "perform" really well, good presentation, patter etc.....effects that you get enjoyment from, effects that need very little or no set-up (or built-in re-set)and do those, remember that working in this envoiroment is about relating to people as much as the "doing of tricks" and of course having some fun.
hope that helps, Dave |

Standing Triumph ala Acer, Wagner, Sankey and others.
"Las Vegas Leaper" by Harris, or variations by others. "Itinerant Pasteboards" and "Cavorting Aces" Dr. Daley. "Too Many Cards" (Aces var.) by Dingle. "Cardtoon" (commercial deck) Harlan. Some minimum table space may be needed for "Itinerant Pasteboards" but should be no problem. |
