Hi all,
I thought I'd post my experience over the last several weeks. I worked for a year at a Golden Corral on their kid's night and for a couple of months at a Pizza Hut. Unfortunately, both places in our area decided at almost the same time(new general managers) to do away with outside entertainers. Now I started looking again. When I started a few weeks ago, everyone pretty much said, "Thanks, but no thanks." After being shot down repeatedly, I took a few days off and then saw the local parent magazine, which had just done an article on "kid-friendly restaurants." So, I called down the list and talked to some of the same restaurants, but this time different people. By the way, this time I was only on the phone. Well, all of the sudden, many of the restaurants that less than a month ago had said "nope" were now saying they were interested. So as of yesterday (Friday), I have 1 definite restaurant (contract signed!) and one more which is promising, and a Cracker Barrel which wants me to perform at some special nights they have in the near future. The point of the story-keep on trying and don't give up-you have to sometimes be in the right place at the exact right time and talk to the exact right person. Have a good day! And thanks everyone for all the informative posts on here! Chad |

Chad,
Congratulations, and thanks for sharing this. It's encouraging to those of us who are continually hitting the pavement in search of new opportunities. Brian |
