The lip you are talking about is a metal flange, sort of, that is at an angle to the inside of the tube, right? If you ever figure it out let me know, and I'll do the same for you - it is the best dye tube I've ever used. In fact, I recommended the style to George Devol in a PM. I would never give mine up, but would love to find another, for back up. I think it was part of another trick I bought at the time, maybe "Joe Ghost" by Don Redmon, or a Sid Lorraine thing, I just can't remember! Frustrating, eh? Well, happy hunting... Best, PSC

I've only used Johnson Dye Tubes. They are metal, come in various sizes, and are flesh colored. I agree the metal does have some disadvatages if you wear a ring. What I do for that is just curl my ring finger in slightly when I am bringing it into my hand, it then hits the fleshy part of the palm, and all is well.

Hello To All And Happy Fourth Of July!!
Please Remember Our Men And Women Of The Armed Forces Who Are Continuing Their Efforts To Keep This Country Free!! Okay, so after 43 years of using just about everything, even cardboard homemade tubes I've come down to the Palmo and now I'm trying the new design by Joe Porper. Rice's Encyclopedia, a Palmo or Dye Tube and you can work miracles. Thanks, Vincent |
