I have a JAM I brought from Amore in New York. It was built about 9 years ago by Illusions by Your Design. It is not nearly as bulky as the ones I see today. I haven't seen another like it anywhere.

Hey Daniel,

The Jam illusion is a creation of Rand Woodbury. Chalet used to build them and so did illusions by your design. They built really deceptive JAM illusions. You can find the explanation of it in his book "illusionworks". The problem is though "illusionworks" is out of print and its hard to get your hands on. JAM is a VERY deceptive illusion when built properly by a professional. Most "Jam" illusions I have seen on the internet are big and bulky which is not the way Mr.Woodbury intented it to be. I recently saw Murray Hatfield perform the Jam illusion with a professionally built "Jam" illusion and it blew the crowd away. Jack Murrays "Konundrum Kube" illusion is a VERY deceptive illusion aswell. Either way they are both excellent illusions from 2 amazing illusion designers.

It is different in performance. Watch the video that Jack has on his site. It will give you the idea how it plays different from Jam.

I now have both. A JAM that was built by Illusions by Your Design and a Konundrum Kube. Both are very deceptive. I haven't seen a good JAM being built by anyone lately. Jacks Kube will do the job for any show. It packs well for moving and shows big. Let me reiterate. I shows great... but very small. Your audiance will be WOWed.

This is my version of the JAM Illusion. I even showed it to Jim Steinmeyer way back during the FISM 1997 convention in Dresden. I call it the Compress-Her Illusion.

Lou, that's very nice. Which plans did you build this from?

There are plans in Illusionworks by Rand Woodbury, volume 1. It's out of print and a little hard to get ahold of.

I will be building a Jam in the next couple weeks. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Please post pictures when you finish. A friend of mine this side of the pond had one of these for years and I have to say it looked great!

Lou, I just watched your performance and it brought back memories. Does anyone know how to get hold of plans for Jam? I'm eager to build after watching this again!
