I think that this is one of my best tricks. It amazes everybody. If you don't know the trick, it"s like this: You show your hands front and back, you close your fist and then a coin appears
manipulation!!!

I also like the effect. However the visual quality of the tape is the worst I have seen. Perhaps it is just the tape I have and not all of them.

It's the quality of the tapes in general.
Did you know magicboy that David Copperfield used this very trick on one of his specials making a small pyramid appear in his hand.

Did you know that T. Nelson Downs used this over 100 years ago? Its written in his "Modern Coin Manipulation" book.

Yep, Dan is absolutely right! It is the exact same “thing” (same in concept and gimmick - OK, the gimmick was not plastic 100 years ago but metal, still it’s the same thing regardless!).
Back in 1950 it was sold as “Mellon’s Miracle Money”. Lay the gimmicks beside each other and they are the same size and shape but are made with different materials (plastic vs. metal). Nothing new under the sun eh? The big difference? Well in 1950 you got the gimmick and one page of typed instructions with one poorly drawn illustration. The instructions only suggested what you could do with the gimmick. You had to apply your own imagination, creativity and style to make it magical. Oh yes, it only cost $1.00 back then! By the way, I just pulled the video off the shelf and watched it. My copy was clear as a bell. I must admit that I bought the video over 10 years ago when Mier Yedid started pushing it hard. Maybe his master tape has deteriorated over time. Still, for $30.00 USD you get a lot from Mier. You get the gimmick, a videotape, and a 45-page book all together giving you the potential for a strong effect (or series of effects), not bad, not bad at all. I’m glad you like it, more than that; I am glad that you are actually using it and getting strong responses from it. Now think out of the box with the gimmick. You already heard that DC used the gimmick on a small pyramid appear bare handed, Cellini gets miles of play using a ball so gimmicked, I have used a coin clip so gimmicked to make a fistful of coins appear! What are you doing with it? OK, OK, Dan, I know that you do the same effects without the gimmick! But we have to start somewhere!

That Dan Watkins not only has an entertaining picture, but he's a walking coin library as well!
My handling of this sleight involves Gary Coleman and a rather strong gimmick. Just kidding. :spinningcoin: |

Good thinking Ron, but I believe that Kevin James is already doing that one (Not with Coleman though)!
Doesn't Norm Neilson uses the super strong gimmick for his floating Baby Grand Piano” illusion? (Also just kidding!)
