I do costumed magic shows (spiderman, batman, willy wonka, elmo, mickey mouse, etc.)
I've added a chair suspension (when possible), a manual sketch pad, an appearing spring racoon with a disappearance to my act... but I'm looking for some more self-working type tricks that I can do while costumed. Any ideas? Some of the costume require gloves and have poor visibility, so I'm looking for things that are easy to perform under those conditions. Thanks! |

Beware of using copyrighted material without permission. How many people have been sued for using Barney without permission?

I don't actually claim to be the character, it's more like "Red Monster", "A Candy Man", "A Spider Superhero", etc... and we let the kids or parents call us whatever they want.

I still think you are treading in dangerous waters...
But to answer your question...You can use many small stage box illusions like mirror boxes and such. For spider man you can check out Andrew Maynes Handbook of Superpowers. It has a cling effect in there that would be appropriate. Dove pan, lota bowl, foo can are also good. Mickey and do an appearing broom or broomflight (andrew mayne) or a broom suspesion...in regards to sorceror's apprentice. Lota bowl works well with this too. The Batman one is hard since Batman is not magical. |

Thanks for the suggestions.
I do a dove pan appearance with a little spring raccoon than then disappears with a dagger thru the box. That goes over well and is customizable with some small props (cape, magic hat, etc.) I've never heard of broomflight or andrew maynes handbook of superpowers... where can I find more about those? |
