Nevertheless...it's "humor" like this that people remember and equate to entertainers as a whole. Tell a person ten positive and they may pass along one thing to one other. Tell a person one negative thing and they'll pass it along to ten others. I like your posts, Muzic...but that one was just wrong.

Skip, my single original post read by itself would demonstrate bad taste. Alone it's out of context. I should have quoted Harrys post and honestly, it was only directed at Harry anyway.
BTW, I met a group of clowns that came to Portland recently for a convention. I did not attend the convention but they came into the magicshop I was hanging out in. I know not to judge all clowns by these 3 that I met. But they were the most rudest, sloppiest people I have ever met. They all had food stains on their clothes that were not from their last meal. They asked if I was a clown and I responded "no, I am a magician" at which time they patted me on the shoulder and gave me "sympathy". They were loud and obnoxious. They thought they were entertaining and being funny. I am old enough to know they don't represent all clowns, and I know I don't represent all magicians. Let's keep it that way. |

We're cool, Muzic. Grudges are for other people. And I recognize your point on the so-called obnoxious clowns out there who believe that being a clown is a license to be annoying and really embarrass the hell out the pros with their idiotic behavior.
That said...I still ain't eatin' nuttin' you're handin' out ever. :o) Skip

I know this may be out of line since the group is way off topic ... but has anyone ever seen mouse in the blender before?

Yeah, Calamari, I do it in every kid's show, sometimes for extra effect I'll use the family pet.
Actually, someone performed it UK TV recently. He blended the mouse (with a signed tag round it's neck), drank the blood then made the mouse reappear from his mouth. Not my cup of tea. George |

I think it's a bad idea to teach kids that animal cruelty is funny. I can't imagine doing this for kids - and surely a lot of parents are going to feel the same???

I don't think you have to teach kids that animal cruelty is funny I am pretty sure they already know.

I have seen some magicians produce dead doves (pretty gross) I am not quite sure why they wanted to produce a dead dove but the audience did'nt seem to mind.

Of course, you shouldn't promote animal cruelty in the show. I get annoyed if the kids are rough with Rocky (and hope they have no sense of irony as I manipulate my dead rabbit). I'm not sure all kids do know that animal cruelty isn't funny. There's some terrible animal abuse reported in the paper, a lot of it done just for kicks to amuse some sick mind.
Itchy and Scratchy, anyone? George P.S.I hope Felix didn't think I actually do blend the family pet in my show! |
