I am making a concentrated effort to henceforth know the correct names of any routines/sleights/flourishes I do. I am self taught, and I think it is about time I know them.
I mostly am interested in cards, but have one routine that is not cards, and really would like to know what this routine is called : When sitting at a restaurant table with friends, I ask "Have you guys ever seen someone push a quarter through a table?" (This alone will probably be enough for you guys to know it, but in case it isn't...) Someone gives me a quarter, and I grab a napkin and salt shaker. I put the quarter under the salt shaker, "Where I can't get to it without removing the shaker" . I then place the napkin over shaker, wrap it around the shaker and bang 3 times on the table with the napkin wrapped shaker..... My grandfather taught me this when I was a kid, and I have always wondered the name. Thanks, MXRay |

I don't really think there is a name for it. Im sure it is in many magic books and Vids under numerous names. I guess it is just known as the salt shaker through table trick.

This an old one that always works. If it has a name, I never knew it. I've been doing it for over forty years. I've used salt shakers, shot glasses, beer bottles, miniture bottles, half a lemon, beer cans, pop cans, sugar dishes, and even a small sack of peanuts.
If the napkins are large enough, you're on! Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
