I have 22 blows , 3 rings circus , Boris Pocus and Front Row ...
Well yeah I love Sankey's materials a lot , it always get great reaction when performing to lay people . If I were you , I would go for the FrontRow Sankey , not only good materials in the DVD , and you can see how Sankey perform in front of "Real Audience" . It's better than 22 blows . But if you really want the DVDs that you are considering , I wouldn't recommend you the 3 rings circus , not really worth the money. Dough is not that good , I don't have the killer key but I know how it's done and I think many many better effects are out there and more examinable . You can learn paperclipped in FrontRow Sankey DVD . Oh may be you can consider the Best of Jay Sankey , I don't have them but have heard many promised things . How about In a Flash ? It's so cool when I watch the demo , really want it but not enough money to invest lol ! |

Hmm In a Flash is getting good reviews from what I've seen so that could be well worth the money. FrontRow Sankey is one of the ones I havent heard too much of. What effects does he teach in that one?

If you like leaving home you should check out Greg Wilson's Florida Keys on his DVD On the Spot. Same type of an effect but I think it is better.

And you can watch Sankey perform in front of real audience in the restaurant. Many new ideas were found in this DVD, I also got 22 blows, 3 rings circus, Boris Pocus so I can compare , Front row is much worth buying among those, not the old repeated trick anymore and could be use in real life (but I didn't say you cannot use the effects in those 3 dvds (22, 3rings , boris) in the real life, but really many of them were chessy and I don't think Jay had ever performed them in his real life !) |

It really depends on what kind of style you want to adapt for yourself.
IMO best effects in each category. Mentalism: 22 Blows Cards/Coins: Revolutionary titles Close Up/All Rounder: Very Best of Jay Sankey. SECRET FILES

Revolutionary Coin Magic 45 might be worth a try if its cheap. I've found a good few useful things on that. |

Front Row Sankey is great! It has an effect called "Lotus Effect" that is very, very similar to "Paperclipped", so similar that you would not want to purchase both. "The Phoenix Effect" combines a signed card + fire + mentalism = fantastic effect! Jay is one of the best teachers I've seen. He not only shows you the handling but also instructs on the psychology of the effect and its impact. For those who have been disappointed with other Sankey DVD's, give Front Row Sankey a try!

Earplugs is one of the best concepts for sponge magic ever! It makes the sponge effects real to adults!
Thank you for the opportunity |

I really enjoy In a Flash but I prefered the old decks with the hole rather than the new realistic holes.

First and foremost, don't buy "Paperclipped"!! You can get Jay's "Front Row Sankey" DVD and that includes full explanation of the paperclipped routine as well as "the move" involved, cleverly disguised of course as a completely different effect.
Now, I love Jay Sankey. I think that he is one of the most creative "thinkers" in magic. Unfortunately for the seasoned magician, most of his effects for the most part utilize only three advanced sleights: "The Vernon Substitute Transfer", The secret "move" involved in his paperclipped routine (I will not mention the name as it totally gives the purpose of the move away), and finally the "Erdnase/Houdini Color Change". Other than these three moves, just mastering a DL, and a double undercut will allow you to pull off nearly all of Jay's card effects. Now this is a plus for the beginner to mid-range magic student but for an advanced prestidigitator the effects may get a bit tiresome and boring. If I had to pick something from Jay, I would go with: Revolutionary Card Magic (2 dvd set)- this is by far and away his most useful DVD if card magic is your thing. Front Row Sankey- This is filmed live at Mr. Greenjeans restaurant in Toronto and includes a lot of great routines including Jay's "paperclipped" routine as well as his ingenious handling of Kozlowski's bill switch (that and the PC routine are well worth the price of the DVD alone), a great DVD!! In a Flash- This is a startling effect and is a great finisher to any card routine. You get an instructional video from Penguin and a custom made deck of cards as well as written instructions. Everything else is basically fodder. His earplugs and three ring circus are o.k., but not awesome. Hope this helps. Jon |

EVERYTHING Sankey does and makes is gold! I recomend everything and anything. I only have one thing, like I previously said, but I hope to get some more of his stuff along with some Greg Wilson stuff once I get money rolling in. (I am getting ready for a restaurant.) He is one of my favorite magicians!
