Ok, I'm totally new to this so I may have an old idea anyway, but here goes.
A key is kept in a box wrapped in a special silk cloth. The story goes that the key became haunted by (insert series of events here).... Place the cloth on the table and explain that the spirit that haunts the key is very very shy and must be carefull coaxed into a performance. Place the Key into the center of the cloth and gingerly fold it into a dark hidden place for the spirit to work. The key is seen to wiggle and move beneath the cloth. You carefully coax the spirit into an "open" performance and the key rolls over in your hand. Then finally, becuase conditions are "just right," the spirit even moves the key in someone elses hand. So, this is my first attempt at a story line/routine. What do you think? Tks Jim |

Nice. A spirit in the key?
And if you don't want to have it move in their hand you could say that the spirit in the key is being shy. |

Jim,
nice idea, think your right about it being an old one though, you have to remember that with this kind of magic(k) less is more, the amimation under the hank would be more than enough, maybe tie it in with a box of oddities that came from a Haunted house, part of a longer set?..... Dave |
