Today I noticed Café member daffy Doug mention the apparent lack of attention regarding a Doug Henning tribute site. The site he mentioned I’m familiar with and hasn’t been updated past a home page for a couple of years now. Café member silverking noticed it’s a “placeholder” site meaning it’s available to anyone who wants to buy the registered domain name etc. and web hosting services. Further down the thread Café member Timothy Drake asked why anyone interested in setting up a tribute site couldn’t just register another domain with the purpose of sharing a tribute site dedicated to Henning.
The thread is here: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=62 Well I personally have a lot of stuff on Henning as he was the first magician I saw on television. He inspired me such that I’m still involved in magic today. I will do as Timothy Drake suggested and just set up a tribute site myself. However, hosting, design, writing, credits, and occasional updates is not as detailed as gathering and showcasing the artist’s works and accomplishments. I WOULD WANT IT TO LOOK GREAT YA KNOW! This is a call to all who can contribute information, stories, photos, and any web links regarding Doug Henning. No bit of information is too trivial. Collection and posting of information/photos will take a couple of months and once public, will undergo periodic updates. Spread the word here at the Café and elsewhere. I can be messaged here at the Café or e-mail me at: lunchwithhuckfinn@yahoo.com Any help with information, stories, photos, and links are welcome and greatly appreciated. Gracias! Randy Stewart |
