Hi all,
I'm just itching to spend some money on magic dvds and I wanna make sure I make the right purchase. I was searching the archives here at the Café, and Bill Malone stuck out. I was just wondering on his On the loose series. Does Bill teach and cover all the slights and handling that are needed for each trick? I searched for a few hours already so I wont' make another post that others posted already. but I coudlnt' find a topic that really satisfied my question. If this is a stand alone dvd set, where you will learn all that is needed to perform the tricks? Im not a beginner at card magic, nor am I intermediate.. I guess you can call me an inbetweenie. haha any help would be appreciated or recommendations. I love card tricks that require practice, and ones that you can do with out preperation. Bill Malone sounds awesome, I'm just worried that my knowledge on sleights will not be enuf for the dvd. Thanks a bunch! |

Bill Malone series is a great source to learn fantastic effects, but the skill level is intermediate to advanced, some effects are really easy but you will need to practice a lot in order to perform all the effects properly.
The set have a bunch of bonus material including great tips, some moves, shuffles etc, this set is a must have just get it! |

I don't know if I agree that they are must haves but I would still recommend them. contains a lot of popular effects like invisible palm, reset, etc. at some point in your magic career, you'll probably want to learn a version of these effects anyways, so seeing it perform/taught by bill is great.
like most dvds, the explainations of the sleights are usually brief but learnable. picking up some like the card college series will complete the learning process. hope you'll enjoy them... let us know how it goes. Jimmy |

By the way, my favorite Set of card magic is Brain Storm Card Magic by Guastaferro the effects are terrific, the methods very cleaver, fantastic presentations.

My favorite set is also Brainstorm by Guastaferro follow by On The Loose Bill Malone.
I think doesn't matter in what skill level you are now, the most important thing you can learn new stuff and practice it, then you will gain new level of experience. If you can't do some stuff in the DVD, practice it over and over again. I believe you will be able to do it. For the DVD, you can't be wrong with Bill Malone. In addition, you might wanna check brainstorm by Guastaferro and also John Bannon stuff Cheers

The Bill Malone series is very good with both easy/difficult stuff but as andrelimantara said you will with practice be able to master the routines.
From Memory Bill explains all the required moves for the effects on the DVD. Michael |
