Ohhh.......... I bet that hurt! Losing 34 to 20 to THE Ohio State University! All you Indiana magicians... I feel SOOOOO SAD for you. Touch Down Jesus my A**!!! Several of you were talkin big to me in private... Well, where you Notre Dame fans at now?
For those of you outside the USA who do not understand what I am talking about... American College Football! Notre Dame a perennial pretender to the throne was whipped PAINFULLY despite being the media pick to win. Once again, Ohio RULES in both Football and MAGIC!

Notre Dame ain't been worth much since Knute died! Okay, there was that time when they were coached by Ara Parsegian. (Always favored Purdue myself.)
JMHO Cheers!

As an OSU Alumnus, I'm always happy to see the Buckeyes bowl over their competition...especially that big "Yellow M" team. But gloating is truly bad form. It was a great game...as anticipated. Even the experts were predicting a Notre Dame win with the greatest of reluctance and uncertainty.
Life is good! My college team ruled the grid. The Indians are polishing their diamond. Now...if Duke and UNC can hold their national basketball glory and my beloved Hurricanes can snatch the Stanley Cup...2006 may be a killer year! Skip

Geesh, Tony...Do I sound that old?!? Um...er...okay. Yeah, Woody was the man while I was at OSU. I still remember hearing about his "three yards and a cloud of dust" running plays. Few people know that it was really Woody who prompted the epic rivalry between Ohio State and Michigan. He HATED passing and he HATED "that state up North." He literally drummed that hatred into his players.
There's a story that I remember hearing about Woody. On a recruiting trip in Michigan, his assistant noticed that the car they were driving was running low on gas. He told Woody, who was dozing in the passenger seat, that he had to pull over for gas. Woody told the assistant to keep driving. The assistant, who saw the weather was starting to get bad, began to worry about getting stuck in the middle of nowhere and asked Woody to let him stop for gas again. Woody blew up! "No, g*******t! You will NOT pull in and fill up. And I'll tell you exactly why we don't. It's because I don't buy one g****m drop of gas in the state of Michigan! We'll coast and PUSH this g****m car to the Ohio line before I give this state a nickel of my money!" The assistant knew when Woody was serious and kept driving. They barely made it across the border and sputtered into the first gas station they found in Ohio. Now that's a rivalry!! Too bad they had to fire him in '78 for striking that Clemson player! :o) They don't make 'em like Woody anymore!! Thanks for bringing back the memories!! Skip

LOL
Thanks Skip. I knew you had some good stories about Woody. I had heard he hated Michigan with a passion and prepared twice as hard for those games. He was some character. Tony |
