Magic spank: What!! I performed the Icarus effect at one one my shows not to long ago, and after levitating for this one women, she started crying!! I have never recieved a reactions like that "EVER". Icarus Effect (for me) was well worth what I payed for it. Reguarding the F.L.Y levitation, you brought up a decent point. I will say, I thought the Lev looked like he was rotating on his heel to, and felt it looked a little fake. I will not be judging this lev until it comes out. Magicmike30 already said the gimmick was not set right in the demo. I actually can't wait for this lev to hit the market. I will most likly be picking one up. Take care!! 'PIZ'

This looks amazing. Now ofcourse you don't have to do the rotation but it is an option. I have done this both ways and the reactions have been wicked. I feel the rotation looks better and the fact that you can show your shoes right after is a bonus. No fear of being caught. Start clean end clean and stay the entire day clean. I really don't want Darryl to release this as my rep and phone is coming off the hook. Mike

I have a question, but in these endless streams of responses, I have no idea if it's been discussed before...
I understand that for Icarus, you have to modify the pants you're wearing. I feel that's become common knowledge on the forums, so I hope it doesn't expose anything. My question is-- do I have to alter my shoes at all? If so, can I still wear them with other outfits? I'm just wondering how versatile/limiting this illusion is. I just bought it from HP, and I want to know if I should purchase a separate pair of shoes for this bit. Additionally-- I use Electric Touch a lot. If I want to perform Icarus and ET on the same night, can I wear the same pair of shoes? Someone, please reply or send a PM. Thanks so much... Ray.

I didn't see it, but I'm guessing it revealed a bit too much of the method to be publicly exposed.

I've watched several people perform the Criss Angel levitation on internet video sharing sites. I've seen enough good ones to know that it is possible for an average joe to make the props and perform it well. I've also seen enough bad ones to figure out how it's done.
What's funny is I thought the Icarus one was the exact same thing as the Criss Angel one, just with the pants gimmicked differently to face the opposite direction. lol! |

RT SHowman:
Yes and no; it isn't simple to answer. It all depends upon how you set both of them up, but yes, you could wear the ET with your prop. I've not done it, but have both and will look into it now. I use and perform both (and ET but never together). We paid a pro to modify the prop so I can do a levitation from the front or back whenever I want using the same concepts found in both Icarus and Criss' DVD with a variation we have developed. It is wonderful to be able to leviate both direction in a single go. Because we do not do it exactly like Icarus it is much harder to notice the gaff when you turn. So far I've got some GREAT footage for the DVD doing it both ways for people. We are releasing the DVD early next year with full plans drawn to scale the covers our version along with a kit that has cloth swaths, patterns, and the other fun stuff you need to put it together. Will keep everyone informed. On a side note, I have an extra Icarus to sell for a GREAT price if anyone is interested; just PM or call the shop. As an authorized dealer it is the full kit and I will give you a WAY better than you would normally get. Regards, James http://www.blacksmagicgroup.com 877-877-7878 |
