It's about time but, the video of my W.E.A.R escape is up!
I should warn you...it was a Halloween show, I don't look much like my "Show girl" photos. It's more the "Biker-Chick, punk" me...
Live, two camera shoot, one handheld so there is a little shake but, I kind of like that.
Let me know what you think. http://media.putfile.com/Morgans-WEAR-Escape-2005

I know the Table of Death sits right on the "Magician"-"Escape Artist" fence...sooooo, this could be interesting. Smile

Morgan

P.S While I'm at it John posted in Grand illusions but I don't know how many of you get over there. If you'd like to see video of our "Spooktacular" Halloween show you can find 7 here: http://putfile.com/wackydracky What can I say, I like to share with you guys.

The wait was definitely worthwhile. The table of death is one of those numbers that rates as a classic because there's a brilliant elegance at the heart of its design. You really do it justice.

I know it's one of those tricks that some would classify as more of an illusion than an escape but I think people who see a divide beween pure escapology and escapes done by magicians are on shaky ground. The bottom line for me is "does it involve escape and does it excite audiences?". The answer here is obviously a big yes on both counts.

I love the look and style of your presentation. It reminded me a little of stuff that Simon Drake has done (especially Secret Cabaret and his work with Iron Maiden). I don't mean to suggest you're being derivative because you also have something which is uniquely yours. But I am a fan of Simon's and I've always thought there was unfulfilled potential in some of the directions he explored so it's encouraging to see acts like yours. And I have to say you really carry off the gothic biker chick look.

I've tried watching maybe 6 times by now. But it stops loading just as John says "32 steel spikes". Exact same spot every time. Any suggestions?

Chance,
It's about an 8mb file if your internet is fast enough I could email it to you. Or get me your snail mail and I'll send you a CD.....did you get my last email?

Andre Kole's masterpiece does create a problem for us.

Are we a magician or an escape artist?

I have given thoughts before, and will abstain from doing so again.

I would suggest reflection on that point, because they are not the same thing, and knowing what you want to be when you "grow up" is important.

Almost as important as what you should be....

...excellent video as always.

Great job Morgan,

I love your closing music, 'I like it better when it hurts?" what song is that anyway.

John's reaction to the spikes falling early was priceless. The audience may have laughed, but I think it was at his reaction, not at your apparent fate. I just loved it.

Keep up the good work!

MS,
Nicely done and a fine video as well! Too bad there is no backstage bonus. Keep up the good work!

Sorry, I removed the video from putfile when my site went live. It's now here:
http://escapechic.com/morgantheescapist_010.htm
That should take you right to the video. If not it can be found at Escapechic.com, main menu under WEAR 2005.
And you know what..I never did tell Cliff the name of the song when he asked, shame on me. It's Pink..but I'll have to look to see what song, I just can't seem to remember, I'll find out.
