Okay so I was doing a little show for my girlfriends sister's birthday party and at the end of the show this 11 year old girl comes up to me with a quarter, balances on the tip of her left index finger, and with her right index finger she slowly makes circles around the coin, and in the next moment the coin was gone.hands empty. I later figured it out.i just never seen that anywhere. and I thought it was quite hilarious.

When I was a little kid in the mid seventies. I remember being at my grandma´s house and watching parts of Doug Henning´s Circus Special. I remember seeing the Zig-Zag and Canyon illusions. They did blow my young mind away. I was hooked immediately and for life. I remember thinking “no way”. I had to know how they worked. I had a quest. I remember thinking that I would devote my life to find out how were these illusions performed. Then time went buy and David Copperfield specials began airing in the early eighties. With his awful hairdo still those first programs were the ones that really captivated me. By then I still had no insight on the workings of illusions. I attended magic shows whenever I could, but they weren´t that grand, what I expected of them.
After many years and much studying with books, texts, plans, meeting magicians, attending shows and conferences, finally I was able to understand how these illusions worked. Wow, they were so simple, yet so captivating! I thought it would end there, but it didn´t. Then I kept going to study more and more illusions, concepts, lightings, staging, etc. The natural curiosity of a young boy, gave way to a thirst for knowledge and being part of a very small community. |
