Apparently in the Greater Magic Video Library (Teach-In series) there is one on the cups and balls as performed by Michael Ammar, Charlie Miller, Johnny Paul and Mike Rogers.
If anybody is familiar with this DVD, I am curious to know whether the Michael Ammar routine is the same one as in his book The Magic of Michael Ammar. Secondly, what is the video quality like? Some of the older videos are still of sufficient quality to learn easily from, but I have seen one or two with such dark backgrounds and poor lighting that following them is a real challenge. Any other feedback on this video? Worth the money? Thanks! |

Malcolm,
I have the VHS tape version, and found it to be very informative. It was nice to see Charlie Miller. Anyway, Yes the Ammar routine is the same, and he teaches it very well (which is an understatement).Since you have the book, seeing Ammar in action doing the same routine is a fantastic teaching tool. Johhny Paul's routine blew me away the first time I saw it. Mike Roger's of course uses his famous baseballs. To answer your questions, the picture quality is good, the teaching is excellent, and you get a chance to learn and see some great magicians who are no longer with us. A must have for the cup and ball enthusiast. Yes it's worth the money IMO. David Paul
