I need a light silk for a Waltzing Matilda (S. Duscheck's) that I am making with a thiner gimmick, regular silks (cheap ones) are too heavy. I checked with Steve and he recommended to use a lighter silk rather than a thicker gimmick.
I thought of using a streamer but don't know if it is lighter than a silk. As a reference my silk is a 6x6 bought at penguinmagic.
Note: I know that I can buy the trick from Steve, but I bought his DVD and he shows you how to make it and it is more fun.
Thank you ... Pablo

Hi Pablo:

You want to make sure that you're using a silk made from 100 percent silk - the cheaper one you mentioned might be a silk blend. Also, silks comes in various weights, called "momme." A very light silk would be about 4 momme, and you can buy a quality, 4 momme weight silk from Lock Family Magic.

Here is their website: http://www.lockfamilymagic.com
