Any nice amsuing lines to make the ladies at the back of the kids show aware that their chit chat is too loud and that they must shut the duck up?

Check out seriously silly by David Kaye. Lots of great ideas but most a pretty blunt so they might not suit your style. However, He does strongly suggests setting it up so that they DON'T make noise to begin with by using a sound system and useing music etc.
However, when it happens.... Get all the kids to say "SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" to the parents. Ask the kids to stare at the parents. Grab one of the parents and use them in a trick. Say "Ok guys, now the parents are going to chat really loud when we do the show so it is very important you are very loud." Have a mime competition with the kids then say "Gee the parents don't seem to get it! They keep talking!" Those were mine but my favourite on of Silly Billy's is "Imagine paying $200 for a broadway show and have a bunch of 5 year olds talking at the back." |

There have been a few discussions on this in the little darlings section although I'm not sure exactly what you'd search for to find them.
I've tried a lot of them in my time. I like the line in SB's book too (although that book was a collabaration of several children's entertainers so I don't know if it's an original Kaye idea) but I think performers get more of a kick out of it than the audience. Everything seems to work to some degree but I've yet to find the perfect remedy. George |

Realize that I don't do kids shows for many reasons. THIS is one of them.
BUT also keep in mind it is possible that at least ONE of those chatting at the back will be the one signing the check! Sometimes discresion is the better part of valor.
