To cull two cards, numbers 8,4
"Under-cut to in-jog, run one less than first number, injog, running one more than second number, out-jog and shuffle off. (The two desired cards are now located at top and bottom of the middle packet, which is held by the in and out-jogs. )" I'm having a small problem. After running one more than the second number, how can the desired card be at the top of the middle packet if one more was run and then another was out-jogged? Thanks in advance, Raul

Because the out jogged card is an X card. The "one more" is the card that is out jogged. If the second number is 4, the fifth card is outjogged. That always seemed to me to be different from the description in the book, but that is how it works.
After you have done the outjog/injog, you get a break at the injog as you undetcut at the outjog. When you pick up the break and undercut, the desired cards are now on top of the pack and above the thumbbreak. Then you run one and injog, drop at the break and shuffle off. When you cut at the injog the cards are now on the bottom. Does this help? I'm not sure if I understand the question entirely, and I don't have a copy of "Expert" here with me. Vandy

It's actually easier to do than it is to describe!! LOL.

Therein lies my problem... I think I'm actually describing the shuffle to myself instead of performing it... I must get those cards out one day and do it for real!

Thanks for trying to help Vandy. I have not looked at the Erdnase system of culling cards in a long time since there are more advanced methods that do not use in-joggs and out-joggs.
Marlo's Lessin out system is much better in the book Deck Deception is an easy formula for both stacking and culling cards with the jog shuffle but doesn't use the in-joggs or out-joggs.

If you're interested in this sort of thing, I strongly recommend that you checkout Marlo's Lessinout cull/shuffle work. I can't remember which booklet it's in, but you could easily find out by googling if interested. My opinion is that it involves less awkwardness than the Erdnase method.

Grift, Yes that was very helpful! Thanks for clearing that up. I thought that's how it worked but didn't want to learn improperly.
Bish, Thanks for directing me to a more advance method. Is the Lessinout method in Giobbi's CC4 the same or is it a variant? T.J., Thanks as well. All of you guys a great! Regards, Raul

Back when I was starting out the Marlo/Vernon books were about the best stuff out there. Deck Deception and Marlo's early work like the book Marlo In Spades what where I learned a lot of what I can do with a deck of cards. Good luck in your search for a cull. By the way what are you going to use the cull for?

I'll have to check out those sources as well. I only use the Erdnase Sysytem of Cull Shuffling for fun. I don't bottom deal off of it because I can't bottom deal for ****. I like to cull shuffle 3 cards. Just as an exercise more than anything.

I've been practicing my bottom deals playing poker with family and friends, of course for no money. Our family/friends love to see who can get away with cheating, it's crazy but that's our family, at anything i.e. uno, dice, risk (flustration count works well to show you have 3 of a kind), poker, etc. I wanted to learn a deceptive way of culling two cards to the bottom so I could deal pocket pairs while playing Texas Hold'em. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Regards, Raul
