Well, the season for busking is almost here. At least for me in this part of the world. Sure, I hit the spot every so often to keep the rust off during the winter, but it just isn't the same.Working inside just isn't the same.
The outdoors, wind and sun on my face. The crowds coming and going like the ebb and flow of a creek after the thaw. I have really missed it. In fact, I think about it and it makes me smile. There's always the other thoughts I think about at this time of year. Am I going to be good enough again? Will I still have "it"? Will there be some new kid who's just gonna roll all over me? Will I still be the one everybody comes to see? Am I going to be the performer I was? Or at least as good? I think it's my insecurities that keep me trying and practicing and fighting the young man's fight, but still they are there. Somedays, I think about giving it up, but it's part of me. Kinda like giving up an arm. Not to get too cheesy here but do others feel this? What has always kept you going? How do you keep the insecurities from eating at you? Do they ever go away? Should I be happy to still have them? Maybe these are what give me my edge. Any thoughts on this? Bob

I've been watching my spot downtown thaw, but it just got covered with snow again yesterday. First warm day, I'm there.

I went out for the first time this season this Friday, Kansas City that it is. Was 60m degrees, It's cold again now, yesterday we had tornadoes. Kinda hard to do cards in during straight line winds.

Man, I understand the whole Winter thing. Our Winter started almost a week and a half ago and we will be in its grip for another day or two then our second Spring starts. We have actually dropped down to the 50's during the day, sucks.

Don't hold your breath. I moved from South Georgia/Florida to California and I consider Winter here to be too rough. If it makes you feel better when it fell into the 50's we got snow on the mountains around us so I could see it from a distance. Sure it was scarry but I pulled through.

It has to be at least 55-60 degrees to maybe 95 degrees for the more nominal conditions.
