I've purchased a real human skull on Ebay, is that not a body part?

You've just got to find the one that fits your style the most. They're impossible to palm though. But used with a skull they can be quite effective.

I purchased one for a mere $4.00 and what I got was a lousy ink jet certificate with no thought involved. So I decided to revise the certificate and make it a bit more authentic: aged, singed paper, broken wax seal, some cryptic sigils in the corners, looks like it was signed in blood, etc. Even included a "notarized" letter by a private collector verifying its "authenticity." Frankly, It was something that Mr. Chelman would be proud to own. Then eBay pulled my auction for the same reasons. Their official automated message to me stated "If the soul does not exist, eBay could not allow the auctioning of the soul because there would be nothing to sell. However if the soul does exist, then in accordance with eBay's policy on human parts and remains we would not allow the auctioning of human souls. Therefore, we will not allow soul auctions to be listed on the site." But if you look around, you'll see them for sale from time to time. Occasionally there are one or two that seem to have a real high bid, but my guess is that they are artificially inflated to make them more noteworthy and thus get more people interested in the soul in the first place. Its ok to sell a hunk of grilled cheese that looks like the virgin Mary, but don't dare try to sell a piece of paper you claim to be a soul. Here is a link to the thread: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=14 Posted: Mar 28, 2006 7:07pm ------------------------------------------ During the exchange I had with eBay about this, I pointed out that there were several other people selling souls at the time. Here is part of the email I wrote to eBay: --- ...you say that "listings not offering an item or service for sale are not permitted on eBay." But what I am proposing is both an item and a service. First and foremost, it's a piece of paper and a little bottle. Included with that is another piece of paper stipulating that the other two things are a piece of paper and a little bottle. Three tangible items, all perfectly meeting the specific edicts set out by the legal eagles at your fine establishment on the web. Also what I am proposing is a service. My religious beliefs state that the human spirit can be freed of confusion and emotional pain through the use of faith-based inspirational objects such as this so-called “pact with the devil.” By hanging this document in a prominent place in their homes, parishioners have the principles for leading a good and virtuous life instilled in them every day. It’s no different than a Christian crucifix or a Tibetan mandala. If the item was listed as "Authentic Religious Document" and gave no mention to the "soul" it just so happened to contain, then legally, it would meet all of eBay's requirements for an item being listed. Is this correct? Furthermore, you haven't discussed the issue of eBay's alleged discriminatory bias based on religion. Maybe that’s more than you want to bite off right now. I understand if that’s the case. --- But eBay shut the door on me and refused to debate the issue any further. This is what I got back from them: --- At this point, we have explained our concerns with these types of listings, and have explained how these listings are in violation of our guidelines. Unfortunately, this is not the appropriate forum to conduct religious debates, or to discuss the validity of these types of items. It is clear that you understand our policy, and our concerns about the safety and security of our members. We have fully investigated this issue and have come to a point in which no further discussion is needed. Although future emails from you will be read, there will be no further responses issued for the same concern. Please be aware that Section 9 of the User Agreement states, in part: "Without limiting other remedies, we may limit your activity, immediately remove your bids or item listings, warn our community of your actions, issue a warning, temporarily suspend, indefinitely suspend or terminate your membership and refuse to provide our services to you if: (a) you breach this Agreement or the documents it incorporates by reference; (b) we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us; or (c) we believe that your actions may cause financial loss or legal liability for you, our users or us." --- Of course, this was 8 months ago. Maybe its time to dig up this soul issue one more time. Thank you, everyone. You've all got my creative juices flowing again! (insert diabolical laugh here) |

Maybe you could cut your soul up into pieces, and sell them individually.
After all, even eBay would have to admit the existence of . . . . . . . . wait for it . . . . . . . . . . . filet of soul. |
