Has anybody used bio feedback or EEg in clinical operations to reduce/control stress? or as an aid for performance training in a corporate enviroment ?

Yes, both have been done. A pubmed search should help you immensely.

Well, it's not clinical, but there's actually a consumer market computer game out now based on biofeedback. (Called "Wild Divine") which I have and have used.
Basically, biofeedback to control graphical adventure type game (You know, MYST style) at various points having to achive various states to, say, open doors, cause stairways/bridges to materialize, etc. (Relaxation, excitation, and certain things with heart rate, which they have you do through breathing excersizes) It's actually rather neat. Not neurofeedback based (it's expensive enough as is, thank you very much) just skin conduction/heart rate stuff (well, apperently what they look for is "heart rate variability") but it's nifty and fun. Actually, from what I understand there is a clinical version of the thing availible that, I guess has more data tracking software that can run in the background. Well, they actually now have a bunch of software you can get to use with the equipment. (Note, the original game itself wraps the whole thing in a "new agey" style thing, but under the hood, the biofeedback stuff does work. Pretty slick equipment, actually) |
