I am unmaskingmyself and my friends as some of the biggest dorks on th Café right now.
I used to work for the Canadian super gamestore, Dufferin games, before it closed it's doors for good. There I met my best friends. We have been getting together every sunday night for the last 2 years to play boardgames Our game of choice, settler's of catan. We have taken this game and morphed it into a sick and gnarled reminant of it's former self. We play with two full sets of sttler's tiles, and cards to make one giant board, as well as the cities and knights expanion. Not only that but we have modified nearly all of the rules. Our games run from 2 - 3 1/2 hours. I am curious as to whether or not any one else on this board is as addicted to the game as we are. I have many rules, and variations that we have come up with that I would love to swap with fellow Café members.!

Haven't been playing long enough to make up my own rules - but I liked (OK,OK - loved) the game enough to shell out for the 10th anniversary 3D edition. Do you also use the Seafarers expansion?

No, oddly enough we deemed seafarer's as being rather useless. I haven't bought the 10th anniversary simply because I don't think that there would be enough tiles to play one of our monster games. We use two regulation game boards -- that means that there are four dessert hexes, and two robbers as well -- which can get interesting...
