Any ring on finger routine is great. Just look at thimble moves. Garret Thomas has some great stuff. There is allot of great ring on string and ring on wand work out there. You could start with Vernons ring on wand from stars of magic. Once you start you will most likely get addicted to this stuff.
P.S. could you stop yelling at us.

I'm asking becuase a bride's new wedding ring is a pretty special piece of equipment that I would feel uncomfortable about borrowing for more than several seconds.

The bride and groom just took vows and exchanged rings a couple of hours ago.
I would think that asking the bride to remove her ring might not go over too well. I was just reading Jerry Metzner's "Magic with Finger Rings" book a few moments ago. There's some nice routines by Steve Dusheck and others in there. Some are work with gaffs or gimmicks but there are others as well. |

Definitely Jamy Ian Swiss' attracting rings effect. It's important to do something tasteful in these circumstances. On his DVD, nice positive visual message of being together as one ring moves along a pencil to be next to the partner's ring. This is a worthwhile reason for the wedding couple to remove their rings as you are reinforcing their committment to each other with a magical memory! This and 'Aniversary Waltz' would be all you need to make a bride and groom feel special on the day.

Checkout Dan Fleshman's Restaurant Magic Dvd's Vol#1 has a nice routine (ring flight) on it with a borrowed ring.

Ring on rubberband can be nice. There are a few: Pinnacle, Ringleader, Ammar and Kalush have some great ideas too. Dan Harlan put some nice idea in his rubberband video serie too.

How about that lock that is called 'Wedding Ring Lock' or something like that. I think this might be the same idea:

I strongly recommend: Don't do it. Using wedding rings is a great idea, but not the Bride and Groom's. Think of the awkward moment. They do not want to risk the symbol of their love on a magic trick. They may be pressured into it eventually, but there will likely be a moment of discomfort for everyone including yourself.
May I suggest using wedding rings from other people. There is lots of married couples at a wedding. Borrow a ring from a family member and they will likely respond wmore with humour than fear. David Regal has some good routines with finger rings. |

I agree with Frank and bouche--use someone else's ring.

Yes the ring attraction uses IT, but a very easy application of it's use.

Or you let a ring float up and down on a pencil through a "le claire hook up"...I think it is seen on the thread miracles by Ammar..

I'd suggest doing the effect with a plain wedding ring that has no stones versus an engagement ring that has a stone(s).

As others have suggested, don't use the Bride and Groom's rings. They're not supposed to be taken off for 24 hours or the marriage will fail. I know, it sounds stupid, but some people believe in that kind of stuff.
Yes, that is my real name. Yes, I am a real person. No, you probably won't agree with me.
