Well...THAT encouraged me to rush right over to Wikopedia and check out the great trick exposures!!! Let's see...work towards stopping the gross exposure of magic effects or completely eradicate the cockroach. Both have a fair equal chance of ever happening. Be the best you can be...modify every effect so that it is unique to you and you alone...and move on.

I checked it out and while I support the effort, some of the signatures appear to be fraudulent and many of the comments make the whole effort have a lack of integrity and less credible. Good luck in the endeavor, but I will pass.

Even if there are a lot of signatures, will that stop them from revealing the secrets? If you look before every "Secret" there is a warning, that the secret will be revealed.(Not that will stop most people).

Without the exposure of popular magic effects of the day along with the same-old, everyday, run-of-the-mill. Uncle-Joe types of tricks found in library books, Weekly Readers, cereal boxes and the like...How many of us would be into magic today? Oh wait...would that mean fewer self-absorbed, ego-driven, who-cares posts on the Magic Café? I may have to reconsider this.

I posted an argument against the discussion of methods on the discussin page for one of the effects on the Wiki.
That's probably a much better place to take this issue.

Right, let them find Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft in the library and lose the rest of that stuff. If they want magic... let them learn to read and then to ask better questions.
And shame on all of us for letting this go on for so long.

I get the whole exposure issue, lord knows it's been discussed over and over throughout the Café'. I just don't get this petition, it won't curb exposure, it won't stop it, it won't help pass legislation on exposure.
If anything, like a flamer in a topic thread this petition that holds no actual precedence might just add fuel to the fire and cause more exposure sites and threads to start popping up all over the place. What I personally would try to attack is the filing sharing going on, just about every Kenton Knepper/Docc Hilford book along with other printed material, even dvds is being shared via filing sharing apps. This posting caused me go to Wikopedia site and check out the great tricks exposured, otherwise I would not have looked there, so this posting from my perspective encourages the curious.
