I was flipping through the channels last night and was checking out the American Inventor program and this caught my eye. It looked like Franz Harary was demonstrating a jacket that had a small LCD screen on the back that had "Franz Harary's Magic by Design." Has anyone else heard anything about his line of clothes/jackets? I wasn't sure what I saw as it went by really fast, but it hit me by surprise when I saw it.
Armani may need to watch out...lol Take care, Patrick |

Dear Patrick,
Franz has been working on his own line of clothes for quite a while. It may be interesting to know that the "LCD screen on t-shirt" concept has already been around for a while here in Europe, especially in the gay scene. Regards, D |

Thanks David...it was just something that caught my eye real quick and thought it was cool.

I try to never put down any "big" names in magic... but I'm sorry I can't resist this time... Although I've never seen him perform on stage, I have seen him perform many illusions on television- They are without doubt the absolute worst illusions I have ever seen in my 25 year involvement with magic.

Dear Magicfish,
What does that have to do with Franz's jacket? Regards, D |

especially in the gay scene. A magician invents the same clothing popular in the gay scene? Isn't it normally the other way around? Another magician, Joe Monti is going to be on American Inventor... He invented a toilet seat that filters germs. It's going to be popular with the germaphobes. |

Dear Eric,
Forgive me but I do not get your post... It may have to do with the fact that English is not my native language. Would you mind elaborating? I would sincerely appreciate it. I wrote that this type of clothing has been around in the gay scene for a while, I did not write it was popular there (although the result probably amounts to the same thing). Regards, D |

Last night's American Inventor had a "contestant" on that looked a lot like Joe Monte. (I believe Monte to be his stage name) Anyone know if it was Joe. I've seen him perform at the Magic Castle a couple of times, so I'm not sure if it was him or someone that looked and sounded a lot like him. He moved on to the next round of the competition, so he should be on the show next week. I didn't see his "invention" but I think it had something to do with a toilet seat. I hope his invention doesn't go down the drain. (sorry, I couldn't resist) .

I think it may be who you're thinking of...if you read the 2ns paragraph ot says he is a magician.
INVENTION: Flushpure - A new kind of toilet seat lid that filters out bacteria and other harmful particles that normally escape when you flush the toilet. The seat features side seals, which force the toilet spray through an air filter on the top of the lid. Joe and Jenny Safuto, 47 and 32 years old, share their Los Angeles, California home with Joe's 12-year-old twin daughters. Joe is a performing magician, comedian and singer, and Jenny is a make-up artist. Joe was inspired to create the Flushpure after his mother passed away from a respiratory infection. The event made him very aware of airborne illnesses and he vowed to do something to make our air cleaner. |
