Just curious what is the best for training and working with in a show, a male or female.

It doesn't matter what the sex is. Many people might tell you otherwise though. I have worked with at least a dozen parrots, of both sexes, and have been able to train them all with equal success... infact, I have a female Parakeet who performs about 6 tricks; climbing a rope, jumping through a hoop, spin... etc...

Dave is right, every parrot is different.
But with males you might have some domination problems when they become adults. But again, no rules. If the bird is alone, normally there is no problem. If you make couples, aggressivity can occur because of the reproduction instinct. Just my experience... ARNO http://www.arno-magie.com |
